Is Floyd Landis a Cheat?
As soon as I found out that there was an allegation against Floyd Landis I immediately started surfing the web reading all of the articles that I could find on the topic. I feel really sad about this turn of events. This morning I came across a blog on the topic and I posted a comment to it which I am reposting here.
Floyd's performance looks very suspicious especially in light of the elevated testosterone findings. I guess Floyd and other riders who have tested positive in similar situations feel like they can gain some advantage through denial and protracted legal battles. They hope to convince the public that these tests are not accurate or that elevated testosterone etc is normal for them. Maybe there are some in the public who will buy into their arguments and strong/fervent denials but not me. This is symptomatic of our media centric society in which the real truth is completely hidden from the public within the smoke and mirros thrown out by both sides of a debate. There is really no way for the public to know the actual truth. Sadly, there is no way for the public to have first hand knowledge and the facts supplied through the media are suspect considering that both sides of the debate deny in absolute terms the opposing view and the media plays along. Someone is lying but how is the public to know?
